Life Membership

The age requirement to become a Life Member has been removed by Regulatory Bylaw subsection 6.1(1) enacted October 18, 2024. Life Member status is available to any member in good standing who is retired from practicing the professions. Life Members are not allowed to practice the professions. After being granted Life Member status, a membership fee is no longer required.

How to apply for Life Membership

Members who are eligible for Life Membership may do so using the Life Member Application Form for PDF version or Life Member Application Form online version.

Life Members and use of title

Life Members are permitted to continue to use the professional designation they had at the time they became a Life Member (P.Eng., P.Geo., Engineering Licensee, Geoscience Licensee, Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training).

What if a Life Member wants to return to practice?

A Life Member who subsequently wishes to return to practicing professional engineering or professional geoscience on projects or properties located in Saskatchewan shall call the APEGS office to reinstate their licence by paying any required membership and licence fees. Payments can be made by credit card over the phone, or by mailing a cheque to the APEGS office. Members who require a fees notice mailed can request it at the time they call to reinstate. A Life Member’s licence to practice is not reinstated until the required fees have been payed.
