University of Regina – Decarbonizing Transportation Symposium: Transit, Active Transportation, and Electrification
May 25, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to sponsor a symposium on Decarbonizing Transportation in Southern Saskatchewan. The Symposium will include presentations by City of Regina, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as various industrial organizations. Each presentation will be 20 minutes followed by a short 10 mins Q&A session. The goal of this gathering is to focus attention on these issues, with the aim to move our world closer to a zero carbon future. We hope that through practical real-world assessments and through discussion, organization, and planning, tangible and measureable improvements can be made to the carbon footprint. The symposium will bring up as many questions as it answers. We hope the symposium will open up a general discussion on how to progress on this urgent issue. The symposium follows a presentation by Prof Kelly Tang (on May 16) which will introduce the Transportation Symposium is the second in a series on Decarbonizing Southern Saskatchewan and includes: Built-up Environments, Transportation, Industrialization, and Energy.
