Solar Energy: An Introduction to Photovoltaic Solar Power

This course is an overview of PV solar power. We discuss how solar cells work, which PV technologies are used most, which emerging technologies show the greatest promise, and how to quickly size a PV array. We look at the maximum theoretical efficiency of a solar cell containing only one PN junction and what researchers are doing to overcome it.
This course is suitable for engineers who would like to learn the major principles, advantages and disadvantages of solar photovoltaics.
