Course Summary: This online engineering PDH live webinar reviews the professional ethical behaviours expected of Canadian engineers as outlined by Engineers Canada in “Guideline on the Code of Ethics”.
Engineering ethics is the study of moral duty or obligation regarding issues and decisions confronting individuals and organizations involved in engineering. It is also the study of related questions about moral conduct, character, ideals and relationships of peoples and organizations involved in technological development.
This 1 PDH webinar is intended for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as design and construction personnel interested in learning about sustainable energy and design.
Learning Objectives
This PE continuing education live webinar is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understanding the professional ethics and behavior expected of Canadian engineers as outlined by Engineers Canada in “Guideline on the Code of Ethics”
- Identifying roles of Canadian engineers as members of project teams requiring more than “engineering” behavior.
- Understanding “Legal Links” associated with your organizational role.
- Applying the concept of “Vicarious Liability” to your work situation.
- Discussing engineering ethics and the laws and rules of professional conduct and responsibility.
- Reviewing ethical case studies and examining our reactions to them.
