2024 Practicing the Professions Day Program
The day includes:
- A presentation by APEGS titled “APEGS in Focus: Insights, Updates, Responsibilities, and Enforcement”. Understanding the responsibilities of APEGS, focusing on its purpose and effectiveness.
- A buffet lunch
- A presentation by Dr. Lionel Laroche titled “Bridging Cultural Differences in Technical Professions”. Explore the challenges and opportunities that cultural diversity creates in engineering and geoscience in Canada.
- A presentation by Penelope (Penny) Popp titled “Unconscious Bias”. Delve into the human biological foundation of bias, exploring how it disrupts inclusion and stifles creativity within teams.
- A networking reception featuring local regional societies and professional development organizations. Discover how they can help you further your career and make valuable connections within your industries.

Cancellation Policy:
As per the APEGS PD Days Pricing and Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations received within 24 hours of registration will be given a full refund with no cancellation fee.
- Cancellations received greater than 5 business days before the event will result in a refund, less an administration fee being the lesser of $50 or the registration fee plus tax.
- Special circumstances for cancellations that fall within the 5 business days of the event will be considered at the Registrar’s discretion.
Approved refunds will only be issued by cheque.
