Event Summary: Our aim is to help professionals better understand contractual requirements, focusing on common challenges and unclear standards. Topics include the basics of Errors & Omissions (E&O) and Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance and why contracts are essential in professional practice. We will also explore changes in the legal landscape, such as increasing limits, jurisdictional pressures, and the shortage of experts. Attendees will learn about rising contractual demands and what is considered “standard” in the industry. The goal is to provide clear and practical insights, so participants feel more confident navigating contracts and meeting professional obligations.

Presenters:

Adam Thomson, CIP, Senior Advisor, Commercial Lines – Adam brings over 16 years of experience in commercial insurance, specializing in all areas of liability coverage, protection & risk management. As a third-generation broker, Adam is passionate about driving innovation in the insurance industry, developing unique approaches to risk management. He began his career as an underwriter with Aviva in 2008, building a strong foundation in insurance fundamentals. In 2011, he transitioned to brokering and quickly established himself as a leader in the field. In 2019, Adam was recognized by his peers as one of Canada’s Top 10 Insurance Brokers Under 40. Adam is a trusted advisor for many individuals and organizations nationwide, delivering exceptional service through expert advice, risk mitigation, and management strategies.

Connor Yeo, BSc., Advisor, Commercial Lines – Connor received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2012. With a science background, Connor brings curiosity and a deep understanding of his clients’ needs. Focused on education and risk management, he aims to be a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate their risks with confidence and informed decisions. Connor started his insurance career in 2020 with HK Henderson Insurance as a Motor License Issuer. Early on, his passion for learning and self-starting attitude was recognized and rewarded. In 2021, Connor was promoted to Advisor – Commercial Lines.
