Direct Lithium Extraction

Lithium is a resource that has been generating a lot of interest over the past few years. But why? Simply, the world is looking for new sustainable initiatives. This includes a major push to the use of electric vehicles.

Currently lithium mining is concentrated in Australia and South America, using the traditional methods of hard rock mining and evaporation ponds but as the demand for lithium increases new technologies to mine lithium are being developed such as direct lithium extraction.

Matt Dreis, Senior Analyst at Prairie Lithium, will discuss the current state of lithium mining, what is DEL, and why do we need it when we are already mine lithium.
