Event Summary: More and more clients are listing SOC 2 certification as a mandatory requirement in RFPs for vendors in the IT Service Management Industry. SOC 2 also helps organizations to improve their cybersecurity posture. There isn’t a lot of information available on how to achieve SOC 2 Readiness. This presentation will provide you with guidance and lessons learned to help fill the information gap. We will explain what the components of SOC 2 are and detail what steps you need to take to achieve SOC 2 Readiness in your organization.

- Kimberly Braaten, P.Eng. has 20+ years of experience across the Telecom, Defense, Construction and IT Service Management industries. From her early days at Silicon Valley North in Ottawa, ON working as an Embedded Software Developer, Test Engineer, Technical Writer and Acoustic A/V Design Consultant, then 15+ years in the field of Project Management in IT Systems and Network Infrastructure domains, she has gathered a breadth of knowledge for delivery and implementation of new and exciting products and solutions for multiple companies including Nortel, Newbridge, State of the Art Acoustics, Akara, Curtiss-Wright, SaskTel and ISM. Kimberly has a particular interest in the field of Acoustics which allowed her to combine her Bachelor of Music (Voice/Piano) and Electronic Systems Engineering degrees. She is ever curious and wanting to explore and learn new ways to implement and deliver technical solutions efficiently while ensuring outcomes and benefits are achieved.
- Imran Khan, CISSP, CISM, brings extensive expertise, with 18 years in cybersecurity, and holding CISSP and CISM certifications. Imran excels in ensuring robust digital security with a proven track record. Actively contributing to numerous projects, he collaborates to enhance organizational security postures. His commitment is both a profession and a passion, defining his enthusiasm with “a kid in a candy shop.” This phrase captures the boundless curiosity and excitement Imran brings to securing digital environments. Navigating the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape, his goal is to be a proactive force, fortifying the digital world through continuous dedication and expertise.
